Wrapping up Shout Out St. Kate’s in style: MOA Fashion Show
St. Catherine University wrapped up Shout Out St. Kate’s Day in style with a Katie Leaders Fashion Show at the Mall of America.
Students from the Apparel, Merchandising and Design program styled alumnae with looks from Ann Taylor's new spring line. The show featured eco-friendly, up-cycled designs created by past senior design seminar students.
The event also included a performance by Toussaint Morrison, a 3-time national slam poet and touring hip-hop artist. Morrison comes from one of St. Kate’s “TripliKate” families — his grandmother Carol Van Deusen, his mother, Jane Van Deusen and his sister, Annie-Louise Morrison Backman are alumnae.
Alumnae models include: Annie Ballantine '05, interior designer and owner of Annie Ballantine designs; Cathy Bendel '81, MD, associate professor of pediatrics and director of the neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship program at the U of M; Cathy Brennan '70, occupational therapy consultant; Elizabeth Kautz '82, mayor of Burnsville; Molly Park '71, mayor of Sunfish Lake; Sahasha Reese '12, office coordinator for St. Catherine University Alumnae Relations; Asma Lori Saroya '07, executive director of CAIR- MN; and TashaRose Terry '08, graduate student clerk for the US Attorney's Office.
The event emcee was Linda Thrasher '88, chair of the Alumnae Council and St. Catherine University trustee; corporate practice leader, Himle, Rapp & Company.
Student stylists from the Apparel, Merchandising and Design program included Brieanna Brose ’13, Lizanne Dooner ’13, Madeline Hokkanen ’13, Teshia Isackson ’14, Ellyn Lindberg ’14, Layla Mostaghimi ’13, Josephine Pace ’13 and Emily Trevor ’14.
Student models included Laura Crepeau ’16, Ashley Matthys ’13, Sarah Mong ’15, Emma Schnell ’15, Emily Trevor ’14 and Sierra Wolf ’14.
