The American Library Association (ALA) has released its 2012 list of participants for its coveted Emerging Leaders program — and Laura Morlock ’04, MLIS’11 is among them.

Morlock, who currently serves as office manager for St. Kate’s Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program, will participate in orientation and training at the ALA Midwinter Meeting in Dallas followed by online learning and networking for six months. The Emerging Leaders program culminates with a poster session by the 72 hand-picked participants at the ALA 2012 Annual Conference in Anaheim.

The ALA established the program in 2006 to enable library staff and information workers nationwide to participate in problem-solving work groups, network with peers, better understand the ALA structure and serve the profession in a leadership capacity.

Morlock is a member of the Minnesota Library Association Institute for Leadership Excellence. Her participation in the Emerging Leaders program is being sponsored the Minnesota Library Association.
