Women’s Art Institute hosts an Art Sale for Scholarships
The Women’s Art Institute (WAI) is hosting the 2015 Art Sale for Scholarships Saturday, March 14, 3–6 p.m. in the Visual Arts Building on St. Catherine University’s St. Paul campus (building #33 on the map). The event is free and open to the public.
The sale offers a selection of modestly-priced art donated by local artists, including the following WAI alumnae: Jodie Ahern, Justine Di Fiore, Betsy Dollar, Joan Kloiber, Amanda Stremcha Kopplin ’01, Anne Kramer, JoAnne Reske Kirkman ’76, Karen Searle, Julie Sirek and Karen Wilcox. Artwork by WAI co-instructors Patricia Olson and Elizabeth Erickson will also be for sale.
All proceeds from the sale will go towards full or partial scholarships for deserving students to participate in the Women’s Art Institute Summer Studio Intensive at St. Catherine University.

Since 1999, Women’s Art Institute offers a fully accredited four-week Summer Studio Intensive for advanced women artists of all ages and backgrounds, as well as other events of interest to contemporary women’s art practice. The innovative and rigorous program focuses on issues and art that arise through the combination of open studio work, intense individual tutoring, inspiring conversation and critiques, and presentations from guest artists, critics and art historians.
The Women’s Art Institute is co-sponsored by the Department of Art and Art History at St. Catherine University and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. The 2015 Summer Studio Intensive runs June 8–July 2; applications are due by May 4.
