Bancroft to guide audience to “No Horizon Is So Far”

St. Catherine University welcomes explorer and educator Ann Bancroft to the “Our Northern Stars” leadership breakfast series Thursday, Nov. 10.

Sponsored by the St. Kate's School of Business and Leadership and the Leadership Institute, and underwritten by Digital River, Inc., the breakfast event will be held 8-9 a.m. in Rauenhorst Hall of the student center, Coeur de Catherine, on the University’s St. Paul campus, 2004 Randolph Ave. Cost is $12 for individuals or $85 for a table of eight and includes breakfast.  Registration is available online.

Dedicated to inspiring women and girls to unleash the power of their dreams, adventurer Ann Bancroft will share what she learned during polar expeditions that shattered female stereotypes and earned her worldwide acclaim.

One of the world's preeminent polar explorers and an internationally recognized leader, Bancroft inspires others to achieve their goals and encourages them to join her in mentoring the next generations of leaders to know that “no horizon is so far.”

She has been honored as one of Glamour magazine's "Women of the Year" in 2001; was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 1995 and named Ms. magazine's "Woman of the Year" in 1987.

Our Northern Stars host

Broadcast pioneer and St. Kate’s alum Ruth Kosielak ’78 will lead the discussion with Bancroft.

Kosielak was the first woman in WCCO Radio's history to host her own daily talk show, presiding over the airwaves there for 17 years. She is the creator, producer and host of “Ruth Today,” a podcast available on her website (ruthtoday.com) and on iTunes.
