Rediscovering Joy in Health Care conference
Professionals in health care and supporting disciplines, as well as clergy and individuals who provide care for others, are invited to gain new tools to develop resiliency and renewal at the "Rediscovering Joy in Health Care — The Call to Virtue & Holiness Bioethics Conference."
The conference will be held at St. Catherine University and the University of St. Thomas, Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29.
The keynote address will be delivered Friday evening at St. Catherine University by Reverend Nicanor Pier Giorgio Austriaco, OP, associate professor of biology at Providence College, Providence, Rhode Island, and author of Biomedicine and Beatitude: An introduction to Catholic Bioethics.
He is a member of the Order of Friars Preachers, also known as the Dominicans and is a native of the Philippines. He earned a bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctorate in biology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a fellow of MIT's Howard Hughes Medical Institute and also at the International Human Frontier Science Program at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at the University College London in the United Kingdom.
