Students conduct research with professors at St. Kate's

St. Kate’s students, Shannon Doherty ’13 and Panyia Kong '14, presented undergraduate research at the Minnesota Capitol building during the Private College Scholars at the Capitol event on Feb. 22, 2012.

Doherty worked with Associate Professor of Chemistry Daron Janzen on “Synthesis and Structural Characterization of Cyclometallated Gold (III) Complexes,” and Kong worked with Associate Professor of Sociology Hui Wilcox to study “Hmong-American Food and Health Knowledge in Minnesota.”

Both students will share their research findings at national conferences this year. Doherty is scheduled to present at an American Chemical Society conference at the end of March, and Kong will present at the National Conference on Undergrad Research March 29-31, in Ogden, Utah.
