Alumna a winner of The Real Award
Carie Lynch, who graduated from St. Catherine University in 1991 with a degree in nursing, was honored as part of The Real Awards, announced in January 2014.
Created by Save the Children and Frontline Health Worker Coalition, the Real Awards program celebrates the life-saving work of healthcare workers. Lynch and the other 2014 honorees will travel to Washington, D.C. for an awards presentation.
Carie Lynch works as a nurse at the Juvenile Detention Center and Boys Totem Town in St. Paul. She not only works in a tough correctional setting, but she leads her nursing team to give the best care for her patients who come in with everything from police dog bites to teen pregnancy concerns. She supervises the on-call nursing staff and is frequently conducting care on her off time.
