The incomparable Katie McMahon brings new musical flavor and spectacle to her "Celtic Christmas," concert at The O'Shaughnessy on Dec. 9.

McMahon will be joined by harmonizing vocalists, rhythmic percussion and a variety of festive strings in a celebration of the roots of the Christmas season from around the world.

They will perform not only Irish favorites, but a patchwork of traditional European carols and lullabies including forgotten songs of yore in Gaelic, English, Swedish, French and German.

Accompanied by the Corda Mor Irish Dancers, "Celtic Christmas" has become the liveliest and most entertaining of Christmas traditions.

More about McMahon

With a voice described as “poetry, perfection and purity” by the Irish Times, McMahon has been delighting national and international audience since her debut in the 1990’s.

McMahon is probably best known for her exquisite soaring soprano solo in the original Riverdance single that topped the charts in Ireland for three months. A 1998 Riverdance tour stop in Minneapolis led to a chance meeting with future husband, Ben Craig.

They were married in 2000 in Killarney and now reside in Minneapolis. McMahon has released four solo CDs and tours nationally and internationally as a solo artist and with the group, Secret Garden.

Tickets to her concert are $27 for adults, $22 for seniors, $12 for children and $18 for students with a valid ID. Tickets available at The O'Shaughnessy Box Office, online at or by calling 651.690.6700.
