Galloway promoted to dean of student affairs

Curt Galloway has been promoted to dean of student affairs.

Galloway has served the university for 19 years in increasingly more demanding positions. As dean of student affairs, Galloway will lead the Office of Student Affairs and the Student Affairs departments within the Division of Enrollment Management, Information Technology and Student Affairs.

His primary role will be as a liaison for students to the University and to cultivate a vibrant campus environment focused on student learning.

Galloway has served as the University's director of student life, and since 1998 he has served as associate dean for student affairs.

"Curt's consistent commitment to creating a responsive learning environment for students positions him well to be successful in his new role," said Brian Bruess, vice-president for enrollment management and student affairs. "This promotion is an acknowledgement of Curt’s abilities and accomplishments and an accurate reflection of work he’s already doing."

As the Dean, Galloway will be responsible for the following areas: Office of Student Affairs, Associate Dean for Students and Multicultural Education (which includes Career Development, Community Work and Learning, Multicultural and International Programs and Services, O’Neill Center for Academic Development), Counseling Office-St. Paul, Counseling and Student Development-Minneapolis, Early Childhood Center, Health and Wellness Center, Residence Life, Student Center and Activities and Student Life-Minneapolis.
