Give to St. Kate's Day marks successful one-day giving campaign
With more than $180,000 in challenge funds up for grabs, the third annual "Give to St. Kate’s Day" on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, was a hit.
The results of the one-day online giving campaign were still being counted on Thursday, but early tallies indicate the event was a success.
As of Thursday, Give to St. Kate's Day funds accounted for 18 percent of the goal for annual giving, which is $2.2 million for the current fiscal year. Over 650 total donors joined in the effort, including 25 new President's Forum Members. The campaign raised approximately $70,000 more in 2012 than in 2011, advancing the University closer to its annual fundraising goals.
"We are so grateful to the many donors that chose to support St. Kate's mission by making contributions," said Annual Fund Director Stacy Rooney. "It makes me proud to be a part of such a generous and supportive community."
The annual day of giving supports the St. Catherine University Annual Fund — a fund that contributes to student financial aid and faculty resources and touches almost every student support office across the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses of St. Kate's.
Inspired by GiveMN's "Give to the Max Day," "Give to St. Kate's Day" featured $180,000 in challenge funds in 2012 to attract new donors and to encourage existing donors to make an increased gift.
