Alumna wins MLA Distinguished Career Award

Gretchen Hintz Wronka '66 received the William G. Asp Distinguished Career Award at the Minnesota Library Association (MLA) 2014 Annual Conference, held October 8-9 in Mankato, Minn. The award recognizes distinguished service to the profession as well as active and innovative leadership in the development of libraries and the improvement of library services.

Wronka graduated with a library science degree from St. Catherine University before going on to earn a master's in library science at the University of Minnesota. She has worked at the Hennepin County Library since 1981 where she currently serves as a supervisor in multicultural services and digital literacy.

As an MLA member, Wronka has filled many roles over the years, including president, legislative chair, and chapter councilor.

Wronka has remained closely tied to St. Kate's, teaching on campus as an adjunct faculty member. She is also an Alumnae Council member and has served on Reunion planning committees.
