Gryffindor Tower holds open house

The Gryffindor Tower Living Learning Community, located in Caecilian Hall, held their first annual faculty and staff open house on Monday, March 10. The open house included a tour of the floor, a short presentation and Harry Potter themed refreshments such as butter beer and chocolate frogs.

Gryffindor Tower provides students the unique experience of pairing the Six Degrees of Harry Potter literature course with living in a residential community. Other themed housing floors for the 2014-2015 school year include: American Sign Language, Antonian Honors, Catholic Community, Emerging Scholars Community, Global Perspectives and Healthy Living.

Compared to other students, residents who actively participate in their learning communities have been shown to have higher GPA’s, participate in more major and career exploration opportunities and develop more connections with faculty, staff, other students and alumnae.
