St. Kate's professor appointed to blue ribbon panel
Diane Heacox, Ph.D., associate professor of Education, has been appointed by the Minnesota Department of Education to the Milken Educator Award Blue Ribbon Panel.
The Milken Family Foundation recognizes outstanding teachers across the nation with $25,000 unrestricted cash awards. Teachers are recommended for this award by their states, there is no formal nomination or application process.
Heacox is the author of three books on differentiating instruction and student success that have been translated into Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hungarian, Slovene, Dutch and Portuguese.
Her 2009 book, Making Differentiation a Habit, received the 2010 Distinguished Achievement Award from the Association of Educational Publishers.
She also actively serves as a consultant and professional development trainer for both public and private schools on a variety of topics related to teaching and learning and she is sought after as a speaker for state, national, and international education conferences.
