Pop-up exhibition Inquire Within features WAI artists
The Catherine G. Murphy Gallery at St. Catherine University presents the pop-up exhibition Inquire Within, July 11–18.
Curated by Elizabeth Erickson and Patricia Olson, Inquire Within showcases artwork created by 18 participants from the 2015 Summer Studio Intensive of the Women’s Art Institute. Artists include: Mary Alterman, Kathryn Beumer, Vie Boheme, Patricia Bronstein, Ruth Conner, Elizabeth Garvey, Annie Hejny, Susan Hensel, Sheila Holtberg ’94, Janet Hovde, Susan Huhn-Bowles, Carol Jones, Laura Knecht, Maria Korol, Megan Logering, Claire Strautmanis and Kathleen Tuma ’83.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are July 11, 10 a.m.–7:30 p.m. and July 13–18, 4:30–8:30 p.m., with an opening reception on Saturday, July 11, 5–7 p.m.

Since 1999, Women’s Art Institute offers a four-week Summer Studio Intensive for advanced women artists of all ages and backgrounds, as well as other events of interest to contemporary women’s art practice. The innovative and rigorous program focuses on issues and art that arise through the combination of open studio work, intense individual tutoring, inspiring conversation and critiques, and presentations from guest artists, critics and art historians. The Women’s Art Institute is co-sponsored by the Department of Art and Art History at St. Catherine University and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
