Dean of the School of Business and Leadership announced
Paula King, Ph.D. joins St. Kate’s from St. Cloud State University where she was associate dean of the G.R. Herberger College of Business. She led initiatives in curriculum design and was responsible for program outcome assessments to maintain the College’s accreditation.
As chair of graduate programs at Argosy University, King was part of the leadership team that launched four new programs, including a doctorate in business administration and master’s in business administration. She was also involved in designing sustainability curriculum for the MBA and DBA.
As a member of the faculty of the College of St. Benedict/Saint John’s University, she earned teacher and advisor of the year honors and has also received a Bush Foundation Mid-Career Leadership Fellowship.
Her corporate experience includes positions at Gabberts Furniture and Design Studio where she served as senior vice-president-sales and store operations responsible for strategic planning, managing 16 cost centers and more than 300 staff members.
She holds a Ph.D. in Corporate Strategy and Organizations from the University of Minnesota-Curtis L. Carlson School of Management, a Master of Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota.
She is currently completing a collaborative consultancy with faculty at the College of St. Benedict/Saint John's University to redesign the management curriculum.
She recently joined the Listening Point Foundation Board, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to furthering author and conservationist Sigurd Olson's legacy of wilderness education and preserving Listening Point, his rugged northern Minnesota lakeshore property near Ely, Minn.
