Paula King, Ph.D., dean of the St. Catherine University School of Business and Leadership, has been named to the Minnesota Women’s Press “Changemakers 2011” honor roll.

King and State Senator Sandy Pappas (DFL-Dist. 65) are being honored for the “Global Women’s Leadership Convening” held in July 2011 at St. Catherine University.  MWP’s Changemakers honors Minnesota individuals and organizations “whose action promoted greater self-determination, equality and justice for women and girls.”

The Global Women’s Leadership Convening brought together women leaders from Jordan and Israel, as well as leaders from Minnesota, to collect experiences of diverse women in public life.  Participants included Dr. Rula Quawas, professor of American literature and feminism at the University of Jordan, and Rina Bar-Tal, chair of the Israel Women’s Network, a non-partisan organization that works to promote the status of women and equality between the sexes in Israel.

Underwritten by Allianz, North America, the convening was designed to bring together women leaders with experience in public life to create new models to encourage women to enter public service leadership roles.
