Entrepreneur-author to lead class on writing memoirs

Entrepreneur and author Mary O’Brien Tyrrell will lead, “Jumpstart Your Memoirs Writing Business,” an intensive five-day course offered five mornings, July 9-13 on St. Catherine University’s St. Paul campus. Cost is $550 if registered by June 15, $625 after.

Professionals searching for an encore career with flexible, long-term prospects in the growing field of memoirist/personal historian can learn from Tyrrell, who founded Memoirs, Inc. in 1994.

She has worked with hundreds of elders and their families to publish their life stories in hardcover books that are celebrated at family book-signing events. Through this process of writing a life story, the elder narrator often receives a boost in self-esteem, and their family is often surprised with stories never before revealed.
