St. Kate’s students Jessica Cormier '12 (biology), Elizabeth Fosse '12 (chemistry and German) and Kirsten Urke '12 (elementary education and women’s studies) were honored with scholarships from the Minnesota High Tech Foundation (MHTA).

The MHTF awarded scholarships to top undergraduate students that excel in programs geared toward science, technology, engineering and math disciplines (STEM).

The students were among 10 university students acknowledged during the Tekne Awards ceremony on Nov. 3, 2011.

Attended by more than 600 guests, the ceremony honored more than a dozen Minnesota-based technology and innovation leaders at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Tekne Awards recognize innovative technology achievements across a range of fields, from manufacturing to sustainable technologies to non-profit organizations.

The awards were presented in partnership with LifeScience Alley, Enterprise Minnesota and the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota.
