St. Catherine University student-athlete Sarah Moody '12 was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week earlier this week after becoming the first MIAC diver in 2011 to qualify for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championships on both the 1- and 3-meter boards.

She set a new pool record and two team records while earning two first-place and two second-place finishes last weekend. Moody met the NCAA 1-meter standard at every meet in January.

Friday, Jan. 28, Moody led St. Kate's to a 151-62 dual win at home against the University of Minnesota-Morris. She won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 265.45.

On the 3-meter, Moody set a new pool and team record and topped the NCAA qualifying mark on the 3-meter board with a 294.25.

Saturday, Moody helped the Wildcats to a third-place finish at the St. Kate’s Invitational by finishing second on both boards. She scored a 416.20 on the 1-meter and a 411.65 on the 3-meter, adding another school record to her tally.

Last weekend’s events were the conclusion of the regular season for St. Catherine. The Wildcats and the other MIAC teams will return to action at the conference championships on Feb. 17-19 at the University of Minnesota Aquatic center.
