Professor honored during national conference

Anupama Pasricha, Ph.D., was honored at the 102nd American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) Annual Conference and Expo with the New Achievers Award in June.

The national award recognizes emerging professionals who have shown potential for making significant contributions in the field of family and consumer sciences. Pasricha, an assistant professor in the Department of Family, Consumer and Nutritional Sciences at St. Kate's, received the award at the 2011 conference of the AAFCS in Phoenix. The award was presented to her by Marilyn Swierk, past president of the AAFCS, and Sue Byrd, current president of the AAFCS.

During the conference, Pasricha also lead a session on “Improving Students' Multicultural Competency through Service Learning.”
