Sales leader program for women begins in March
Helping female sales managers to take the next steps in their careers is the goal of the new Women’s Sales Leaders Program offered by the Center for Sales Innovation in the School of Business and Professional Studies.
Designed as a three-month course for eight to 10 women, the Spring 2016 program will start with a full-day retreat on March 31 and continue Thursday evenings through May 5 from 5 –9 p.m. The sessions will meet in the the student center, Coeur de Catherine, on the University's St. Paul campus.
Participants will learn how to:
• Develop a strategic mindset to drive results.
• Enhance their leadership skills and expand their professional networks.
• Inspire and coach productive teams.
• Manage the value proposition of their companies, not just sell products.
• Gain new finance and change management skills.
Lead facilitator is Margaret Smith, former 3M sales leader and adjunct professor in the Center for Sales Innovation. She is founder of UXL, a coaching and consulting firm focused on enabling the success of individuals and teams. As an Insights Licensed Practitioner, she will incorporate this tool during the full-day retreat on March 31 for developing each cohort members’ leadership plan.
“St. Kate’s Women’s Sales Cohort leadership program helped me gain more confidence working in a primarily male business," says Tiffany Tripp, sales manager for Latin America at Mate Tool, an alumna of the program. "The leadership and communication workshops, self-awareness and branding exercises and, most importantly, networking with other women that have similar professional experiences really made a difference in my career.”
Past participants include women in sales from 3M, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Cargill, C.H. Robinson, Deluxe Corporation, Ecolab, Protolabs and UnitedHealthcare.
Cost to attend is $2300, which includes books, meals and two sessions of leadership coaching outside of workshops with Margaret Smith. Register by emailing Mary Jacobs at firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact information.
