SCAN goes mobile; online issue redesigned
St. Catherine University’s award-winning magazine, SCAN, is sporting a new look online. The October 2012 issue marks three major changes for the publication:
Redesigned website
The Office of Marketing and Communications has redesigned SCAN on the web. The online version has a new look and feel that reflects the magazine’s quality. Readers can more easily access, search and navigate the stories.
Additional interactive content
Select stories include “digital extras” to further engage and inform readers. For example, SCAN October 2012 online includes:
- A photo slideshow for “A World of Good,” an article that profiles the three Opus Prize finalists,
- A Q-and-A with six students who were part of the OPUS Prize due-diligence teams that visited the finalists in their home countries,
- A photo slideshow for “Dream on Ice,” a feature about a St. Kate’s student-faculty team conducting climate change research in Iceland.
Future online versions may include video and audio content as well.
Mobile friendly
SCAN has launched a user-friendly mobile version. It reflects the revamped look of the online magazine and features sharp, reader-friendly typography, intuitive navigation, and colorful photography.
SCAN is produced three times a year — October, February and June — by St. Kate’s Office of Marketing and Communications in collaboration with Alumnae Relations. The magazine is distributed to more than 40,000 alumnae and donors.
