STEM Center leader in the news

Patty Born Selly, executive director of the National Center for STEM Elementary Education (NCSEE) at St. Catherine University, was quoted in The Catholic Spirit about the innovative sciences curriculum at a newly formed parish school in White Bear Lake.

Beginning this summer, NCSEE will help prepare teachers assigned to the Frassati Catholic School in White Bear Lake to teach an integrated curriculum of science, technology, religion, art and mathematics (STREAM). The academy was formed by the merger of schools from the St. Mary of the Lake and St. Pius X parishes.

Selly also authored the opinion/editorial, "Heed the president's call for early childhood education," that appeared in the Monday, Feb. 3 edition of Minnpost
