St. Catherine to offer Master of Business Administration
St. Catherine University will offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) beginning in February 2014, to provide emerging business leaders with the advanced concepts and skills they need to succeed in a global economy.
The MBA program will use a flexible "blended" learning model, combining online classes with face-to-face learning. Classes will first be offered on the St. Paul campus of St. Catherine University, with additional courses becoming available at International Market Square on the edge of downtown Minneapolis.
The St. Kate's MBA offers a comprehensive advanced business degree, with a curriculum that weaves together three areas of focus: preparing practice-ready graduates, analyzing issues through the lens of global and social responsibility, and ensuring that students approach their business careers with an innovative spirit.
Applications open June 1 for the 2014 program.
The MBA will launch with three concentrations:
- The healthcare concentration prepares students for the rapidly changing healthcare landscape. It is backed by the University's long-standing reputation as the region's most comprehensive provider of education for health professionals.
- An integrated marketing communications (IMC) concentration offers core MBA courses while immersing students in 21st century skills — social networks, blogging and transmedia campaigns, to name a few — that are crucial for business leaders in a digital age.
- The management concentration includes dynamic courses in accounting and finance, integrated marketing, economics, project management, and other key leadership areas.
The St. Kate’s MBA offers the best of both worlds – proven business concepts and case studies taught by nationally recognized faculty, and the latest industry skills gained from leading professionals working in the field.
The program is open to both women and men, and it follows a cohort model, in which students progress together as a group through the program. By taking one course each term year-round, students can complete the MBA in just 24 months.
The MBA will be offered through the School of Business and Professional Studies— which features regionally recognized programs in organizational leadership, sales and accounting — beginning in February 2014. Applications to the program will be accepted starting June 1, 2013.
Founded in St. Paul in 1905, St. Catherine University ranks as one of the leading universities in Minnesota. Its graduates include successful CEOs, entrepreneurs, high-tech pioneers and other award-winning business professionals.
