University engages in STEM Day at the Minnesota State Fair

STEM Day at the Minnesota State Fair was a huge success in 2011, as 28 organizations participated, offering fairgoers the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations from a diverse array of exhibitors. Children of all ages enjoyed the activities under the "STEM on a Stick!" theme and visitors took in live demonstrations and an address by Sen. Al Franken, DFL-Minn, at the event in Carousel Park.

Students, faculty and staff from St. Catherine University came out to the event to represent the university's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs and to offer visitors information about the National Center for STEM Elementary Education at St. Catherine University.
