Allison Adrian

Students in Assistant Professor Allison Adrian’s “World Music” class recently attended “The University Avenue Project” cabaret — live music in tandem with a slideshow of local photographer Wing Young Huie's images — in preparation for their "University Avenue Ethnographies" project.

While there, "they got called up to participate in a dance!" Adrian reports. "It was pretty fun."

Adrian is responsible for St. Catherine University’s nightly projections of Wing’s images in front of The O’Shaughnessy, throughout the month of September. The St. Kate's professor first collaborated with Wing in 2006 for her Ph.D. dissertation on Lutheran church music in the Twin Cities.

The projections will culminate tonight in the auditorium. Wing will present “Identity and the Minnesotan Landscape” at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 ($5 students/children; free with St. Kate’s Core Convocation voucher).

To buy, call the box office at 651-690-6700 or visit www.ticketmaster.com.
