Mel Gerten '11 and Sarah Moody '12 have been named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Athletes-of-the-Week in hockey and swimming & diving, respectively.

Gerten was honored for helping the Wildcats hockey team go 1-0-1 against #8 ranked Gustavus Adolphus College this past weekend. Gerten stopped 67 of 69 shots she faced during the two game series. This is the first time in school history the Wildcats have picked up three, out of a possible four, points against perennial national powerhouse Gustavus.

Moody won the award on the heels of her National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament-qualifying (and school record-setting) performance on the 3-meter diving board. Her score of 294.25 was also a new pool record and makes her the only diver in the MIAC to have qualified for the NCAA meet in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
