The community is invited to team up with St. Kate's as a triathlete, on a relay team or as an essential volunteer for the 4th Annual YWCA Women's Triathlon.

Celebrating women's strength

For the second year, St. Kate's is proud to partner with the YWCA of Minneapolis for the 4th Annual YWCA Women's Triathlon, the only women's triathlon in Minnesota. The race celebrates the strength of women of all ages and abilities and invites women ages 15 through 81 to compete or join in the excitement as a volunteer.

The triathlon will include a 500-yard swim, a 15-mile bike route and a 2.5 mile run at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis. Participants may enter the event individually or compete as part of a two- or three-person relay team. Training support is also available for beginners.

In 2010, nearly 100 Katies, friends and family volunteered on the bike route to cheer on 2,000 competitors—nearly half were racing for the first time! There is still time to sign up or volunteer at the event, which begins at 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at Lake Nokomis.

Volunteers are winners too

Volunteers will receive an invitation to a pre–race appreciation and training party at Old Chicago in Minneapolis, a commemorative YWCA volunteer shirt and complimentary food and beverages at the event as well as the opportunity to compete for door prizes.
